Delighted to share that Far Away Fields — exhibited at Súil Art Gallery @suilgallery in the lead-up to Christmas — has now found its forever home.

There is something deeply affirming about seeing your work hang on a gallery wall… and then knowing it resonated enough to travel beyond it.

This piece was rooted in the long views and layered fields around Knockfierna — distance, memory, colour held against winter light.

Exhibiting at Súil was an important step for me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to show the work in such a respected space.

Sundays have my heart.

Today was a proper little studio reset — clearing clutter, putting everything back in its place, and giving the space the clean it’s been begging for. There’s something so satisfying about starting the week with a calm, fresh corner to create in.

And Rosie? She kept me company the whole time… by doing what she does best: sleeping through all my productivity like a tiny, fluffy supervisor.

Now the studio feels like a blank canvas again — clean, calm, and full of possibility. What should I paint next?

In 2016 I sustained a spinal cord injury, and painting became both a release and a relief. Bursts of colour began to infuse my palette, depicting the countryside outside my window.

Working in thick acrylics with both palette knife and brush, I paint the fields and skies of County Limerick. The language of these paintings brings together warmth and harmony – a fusion of my mind and my reality – inviting you into these semi-abstract works of art.

I’m very honoured that my story is featured in the Winter 2025 edition of Spinal News with Spinal Injuries Ireland @spinalinjuriesireland.

In the article, “From Recovery to Renewal: How Art Helped Me Find My Voice Again,” I talk about life changing in an instant with Cauda Equina Syndrome, the months in the National Rehabilitation Hospital @nrh_ireland, and how a simple invitation to an art class by volunteers helped me find my way back to myself.

Renowned artist Eamon Colman @eamon_colman delivered a fantastic 3-day workshop in Granagh Community Centre @granaghcommunitynews this weekend. It was a complete sell-out, and it’s no wonder — Eamon was incredibly generous with his knowledge, insight and encouragement from start to finish. 🎨✨

We had plenty of cups of tea, a lovely walk to the new Bridge Garden and many travelled from far and wide — Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, Kerry, Cork and Limerick.
We all left buzzing with ideas, colour and renewed confidence in our work. 💚
