About Carol Ahern Art

Carol Ahern is a contemporary Irish artist based on a working farm in rural Ireland. Her work is deeply rooted in the rhythms of rural life.

 

In 2016, Carol experienced a spinal cord injury that became a pivotal moment in her artistic journey, providing a sense of release and relief. Her paintings, often semi-abstract, infuse bursts of colour representing the Irish countryside visible from her window. She creates paintings, drawings, and mixed media pieces that capture the natural beauty and untamed vitality of her environment.

 

Carol works primarily with thick acrylic paints applied using palette knives and brushes, resulting in expressive and textured compositions that reflect warmth, harmony, and her personal connection to land and life.

Her art conveys authenticity and a quiet sensitivity to place.
