SPINAL INJURIES IRELAND - ARTICLE
Many of you may not know what's gone on behind the scenes...
FROM RECOVERY TO RENEWAL
I'm very honoured that my story is featured in the Winter 2025 edition of Spinal News with Spinal Injuries Ireland @spinalinjuriesireland.
In the article, "From Recovery to Renewal: How Art Helped Me Find My Voice Again," | talk about life changing in an instant with Cauda Equina Syndrome, the months in the National Rehabilitation Hospital @nrh_ireland, and how a simple invitation to an art class by volunteers helped me find my way back to myself.
Art has become my relief, my release, and my way of celebrating the resilience of rural Ireland - from our fields and skies to the everyday moments at home on the farm in Granagh.
I'm forever grateful to Spinal Injuries Ireland for the community, support and encouragement they've given me and so many others on this journey.
If you or someone you love is newly injured or feeling unsure about what comes next, please know you're not alone - support is out there, and tiny sparks (like a paintbrush dipped in colour) Read the article in full her

My pieces draw on the rolling fields and shifting skies of rural Limerick, painted in my signature textured, semi-abstract style.

"Handled with Care" Exhibition University Maternity Hospital.
A new permanent exhibition in University Maternity Hospital. "Handled with Care" focuses on building community through art. More that 100 artists from across the Mid West come together to collaborate on the themes of family, support & shared experience. The brainchild of artist Giulia Coli an active member of Limericks' Art Community.

I was delighted to participate in this collaboration with my piece called "Secret Petals". In Secret Petals, layers of paint and printed text intertwine to form the image of a flower—both delicate and bold. The underlying words, partially obscured yet still visible, hint at the unseen stories and quiet strength carried by those who pass through the maternity ward. This piece invites viewers to reflect on the beauty and complexity of new life, and the hidden narratives that bloom in silence.
The flower slightly wilted or introspective, adding emotional depth & perhaps alluding to themes of fragility resilience, or the intimate experiences tied to maternity & birth.
